OverviewThe Technical Proofreading Specialist is responsible for reviewing and validating detailed engineering and insurance-related reports. This role ensures accuracy in written content, calculations, and data presented in reports used for property loss assessments and claims analysisScope of ServicesContractors will be required to provide services that align with the following client tasks:Proofread and edit technical reports for grammar, clarity, and consistencyReview numerical data, calculations, and engineering-related details for accuracyCross-check information between reports, supporting documents, and spreadsheetsWork with Excel and Microsoft Office tools to validate data and formattingEnsure reports meet company standards and client expectationsFlag discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information for correctionWork collaboratively with others to communicate discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information for correctionEach engagement is based on a defined scope of work and is governed by an independent contractor agreement. Services must be performed professionally, with adherence to any timelines, guidelines, and deliverables agreed upon in writing.SkillsThe Contractor must demonstrate proficiency in the following, depending on the Client’s requirements:Strong attention to detail and analytical thinkingExcellent written English communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience reviewing technical, engineering, or data-heavy documents is preferredBackground in engineering, science, math, or technical fields is a plusESL teaching or similar experience is a plus (strong grammar foundation)Preferred TraitsHighly detail-oriented and meticulousComfortable working with numbers and calculationsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesWork ScheduleContracted Hours per Week: 40 HoursScheduled Working Days: Monday through Friday (unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing)Daily Working Time: 8am to 5pm ESTNote: The Company will make reasonable efforts to align the Assigned VA’s schedule with the Client’s preferred hours as set forth above.
