Through Cardiovascular Research Solutions, LLC, CVAUSA supports and accelerates cardiovascular clinical research across its national footprint by partnering with practices, sponsors, and CROs to bring innovative therapies to patients while advancing evidence-based cardiovascular care.POSITION SUMMARYThe Research and Quality Abstractor is responsible for the accurate extraction, review, abstraction, and validation of clinical data from electronic health records (EHRs) and other medical records to support cardiovascular clinical research studies, quality improvement initiatives, outcomes research, registry participation, and performance measurement programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESResearch ResponsibilitiesAbstract clinical data from electronic health records (EHRs), including imaging reports, physician documentation, laboratory results, procedure reports, and other clinical documentation for clinical research studies.Abstract clinical endpoints and outcome measures according to protocol requirements.Collaborate with investigators, research coordinators, project managers, and analysts to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and integrity. Conduct source data verification and quality assurance reviews.Perform data validation checks and participate in data quality and completeness audits.Identify missing, inconsistent, or conflicting clinical information.Resolve discrepancies through comprehensive review of source documentation.Maintain detailed documentation supporting abstraction decisions.Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.Other duties as assigned.Quality ResponsibilitiesAbstract clinical data for quality improvement initiatives focused on cardiovascular care delivery, imaging utilization, patient outcomes, and guideline adherence.Assist with data collection for accreditation, benchmarking, registry participation, and performance improvement initiatives.Support internal quality programs and external reporting requirements.Maintain compliance with HIPAA, institutional privacy policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS RequiredBachelor's degree.Three or more years of chart abstraction experience.Proficiency with EHR systems.Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills.Experience with REDCap, clinical trial databases, registry platforms, or quality reporting systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.PreferredRegistered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or other clinical background.Experience reviewing cardiovascular patient records.Experience working in cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, or cardiovascular research environments.KEY ATTRIBUTESStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently.Excels in a remote work environment.Strong organizational and communication skills.
