Requirements and responsibilities

About LiveKitLiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the voice-driven era of computing. Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice AI applications for OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, Coursera, Spotify, and thousands of others, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year.About YouThere are two versions of the GTM Engineer role being hired for right now. The first is an outbound automation specialist — building Clay sequences, AI prospecting tools, automated cadences. The second is what we're hiring: someone who treats Salesforce and HubSpot as engineering systems, owns the infrastructure and integration layer across the full GTM stack, and builds the agentic workflows that make the revenue engine actually intelligent. If you came here hoping for the first, this isn't it.Salesforce is our system of record. It holds the bulk of our GTM data and is the source of truth for revenue, pipeline, and customer data. HubSpot is our marketing layer — campaigns, lead gen, and top-of-funnel motion — and what it captures needs to flow cleanly and reliably into Salesforce. Both systems are in place. What we don't yet have is the engineering layer that makes all of it trustworthy — real change management, observable pipelines, a data model built for AI consumption, and agentic workflows that can act on GTM signals without a human in the loop. That's the hire. You also understand the difference between owning a system and gatekeeping one. Sales will live in Salesforce. Marketing will live in HubSpot. Your job isn't to be the gatekeeper of either — it's to make sure both are governed well enough that others can move in them without breaking things, and observable enough that you know when something does break before they do.You'll thrive as a GTM Systems Engineer if you:obsess with crafting code that is fast, reliable, and practical for the problemare known as the go-to person for tackling tough technical problemswork hard and can build and ship fastcan clearly explain complex technical concepts to othersare a fast learner, frequently picking up new languages and toolsThe best way to impress us is with thoughtful Issues and/or PRs on our Github repos 😊What You'll DoOwn Salesforce as the engineering system of record for revenue: data model, custom objects and fields, flows and automation, validation rules, field governance, and access control. Salesforce is the source of truth — everything else flows into or out of it.Own HubSpot as the marketing system for campaigns and lead gen, and own the HubSpot-Salesforce sync — ensuring leads, contacts, and engagement signals flow accurately from Marketing into the revenue pipeline without drift or silent failures.Build and maintain integrations across the GTM stack (Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Clay, Common Room, billing platform, and more) — ensuring data, engagement signals, and activity flow accurately without silent failures.Own the data flow from GTM systems to the central Data Platform, partnering with the GTM Analytics Engineer to ensure accuracy, lineage, and security at every step.Build, deploy, and extend agentic workflows: AI agents that consume GTM data, surface actionable signals, and automate operations that used to require a human — as part of LiveKit's Data and Business Systems Platform.Build and maintain observability for critical GTM systems: dashboards, alerts, and runbooks so you know when something is wrong before Sales or Marketing does.Implement proper change management across both CRMs: code changes go through review, config changes are documented, rollback paths exist.Partner with SalesOps and Marketing to ensure both GTM orgs can work effectively in their respective systems — your job is keeping the foundation trustworthy and accessible, not being a ticket queue.Partner with the Billing Systems Engineer on CPQ-to-Billing workflows — ensuring the closed-won-to-billing handoff is automated and accurate.Who You AreDeep, hands-on Salesforce expertise — you understand the data model, have built complex flows and automation, and you think about it as an engineering system, not an admin tool. This is the primary bar.Solid HubSpot experience in a marketing context — you've owned or operated it for campaigns and lead gen, and you've managed the HubSpot-Salesforce sync, including what breaks and why.Proven integration engineering experience — you've built and owned integrations using APIs, webhooks, and event streams, and you've handled what happens when they break silently.Code-first mindset — scripting, APIs, and CLI over UI when it's the right call. You have concrete examples of using code to solve GTM operational problems and you can speak to the judgment behind when you reached for it.Agentic workflow experience, in code — you've built or extended AI agent workflows that act on GTM data. Not "we used AI tools" but actually designed and deployed agents in code: prompts, tool calls, orchestration logic, and the guardrails that make them safe to run autonomously.Strong change management practices — you've managed deployments in live systems where a mistake breaks active deals or campaigns.Comfortable partnering with Sales and Marketing stakeholders directly — fluent in both worlds, able to translate their needs into system requirements without becoming a bottleneck.Nice to HaveSalesforce CPQ: approvals, order forms, discounting rules, and the closed-won-to-billing path.SQL and data modeling fluency; familiarity with a warehouse-centric stack (BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, reverse ETL).Experience with billing platforms (Stripe, Zuora, Maxio) and the handoffs between GTM systems and billing. In those school group projects, you did most of the work (:sigh:).Our Commitment to YouAn opportunity to build something truly impactful to the worldContribute to open source alongside world-class engineersCompetitive salary and equity packageHealth, dental, and vision benefitsFlexible vacation policyLiveKit is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected by applicable law.
