On top of full-service payroll, Gusto offers health insurance, 401(k)s, expert HR, and team management tools. Today, Gusto offices in Denver, San Francisco, and New York serve more than 300,000 businesses nationwide. This role is a Software Engineering role in our Technical Infrastructure Engineering group. The ideal candidate will be able to understand the needs of Gusto Product Engineers, and build the tools and services owned by the Developer Experience engineering team. Responsibilities: - Build and improve our Observability Platform such that Engineers can easily understand the behavior and performance of their services in production environments. - Ensure our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly. - Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team on coming up with best practices for writing, maintaining, and running observable services. - Impact the productivity and happiness of our entire team with the tools you build. - Work with our product engineering teams to ensure high performance and observability of our services. - Champion observability best practices across the organization. - Educate and mentor team members while empowering them to leverage tools effectively.
