Responsibilities

About the roleEmpowerly is a fast-growing EdTech company on a mission to empower students to become the most successful version of themselves. You will own Empowerly’s written content engine across blogs, landing pages, and high-intent conversion pages, transforming organic traffic into clarity, trust, and measurable enrollment impact. This role is built for someone who enjoys writing at volume, refining existing work, and turning strong drafts into high-performing growth assets. Content success is measured by search visibility, engagement depth, time on page, lead capture, conversion rate, and long-term authority within the education space. You will execute against a defined content roadmap, prioritizing assets that show demand, traffic, or conversion opportunity, including producing net-new blog posts, rewriting and materially improving existing content, and optimizing high-value pages that influence bookings and enrollments.SEO awareness is central to the role: you will integrate keywords strategically, align content to search intent, structure headers appropriately, and provide internal linking recommendations. While you will not own technical SEO or publishing, you will collaborate closely with the SEO Manager to monitor performance, refresh content, and continuously improve outcomes. You will also strengthen website and landing page copy across webinar pages, program descriptions, and other high-intent assets—refining headlines, calls to action, page flow, and narrative clarity to improve engagement and conversion. You will proactively refresh outdated content as positioning evolves.Selective promotional and campaign copy is also in scope. You will support paid media and webinar initiatives by writing persuasive, intent-aligned copy for ads and promotional assets, iterating quickly with paid and design teams through structured testing and feedback. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, remote, results-oriented environment and enjoys improving existing work as much as creating new work—building scalable content systems that attract qualified families and help students make confident, life-shaping decisions.Core responsibilitiesBlog Strategy, Creation, and OptimizationWrite high-quality, SEO-informed blog posts aligned to demand and business prioritiesRewrite and elevate existing content to improve clarity, structure, depth, and conversion intentMaintain a consistent publishing cadence with operational disciplineTreat content as a performance portfolio, not a publishing checklistSEO-Aware WritingApply keyword strategy and search intent alignment to all contentStructure content using clear header hierarchy (H1–H3)Recommend internal linking opportunitiesPartner with the SEO Manager to refresh and optimize content based on performance dataWebsite and Landing Page OptimizationWrite and optimize copy for webinar landing pages and program pagesImprove headlines, CTAs, page structure, and narrative flowRefresh outdated content to reflect evolving positioningPromotional Copy SupportWrite or refine paid social ads, webinar promotions, and supporting assetsAlign messaging to audience intent and funnel stageCollaborate with paid and design teams to iterate quicklyCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with the SEO Manager on briefs and refresh prioritiesCollaborate with designers on layout and UX alignmentPartner with the webinar team on topic framing and landing page messagingSupport PR and partnership initiatives with high-quality tentpole contentWhat this role does not ownLifecycle email campaignsWordPress publishingOverall SEO strategySocial media posting or community managementThe focus is on high-impact written assets that drive organic growth and conversion.Required skills and experienceBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field5+ years of experience as a content writer or copywriterDemonstrated strength in long-form writing with a clear, confident voiceProven experience writing for SEO performance and conversion impactComfort rewriting and significantly improving existing contentAbility to produce high-quality work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentNative or near-native English proficiencyA portfolio or writing samples that demonstrate depth, clarity, structure, and persuasive abilityNice to havesExperience in education, EdTech, or service-based businessesFamiliarity with HubSpot, Airtable, or structured content workflowsWorking knowledge of paid social, funnel metrics, or CRO principlesWhat success looks likeOrganic traffic grows in both volume and qualityHigh-intent pages show measurable improvement in conversion ratesExisting blog content is consistently refreshed and strengthenedContent contributes meaningfully to pipeline and enrollment growthDocumentation and workflows support scalable executionBenefitsBenefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick days, and a 401(k).
