The VFX Artist position is responsible for generating animated effects, procedural simulations, dynamics, particles and fluid systems for visual effects in CGI and live action. They will work closely with the supervisors of each of the areas to deliver high-quality results. The VFX Artist must have complete artistic, creative, aesthetic proficiency and an incredible artistic eye to to be able to achieve simulations and effects that are perceived as natural and realistic. Their responsibilities include: ⚡ Design and create a wide range of special effects simulations, including oceans, systems of CFD fluids and splashes, dynamics and destruction of rigid bodies, explosions, smoke and fire, cloth simulations, particle systems, procedural effects and more. ⚡ Ability to create custom setups, templates and OTL (Operator Type Library) HDA (Houdini Digital Asset, as well as work from existing pre-built workflows. ⚡ Coordinate with the L&S department to ensure the correct export of simulations and assets from Houdini to Maya / 3Dmax. ⚡ Review simulations based on the client's vision and the feedback of the general supervisor of the project, respecting the times assigned to the execution. ⚡ Work with the established pipeline and propose constructive suggestions to improve processes. ⚡ Support the team to solve challenges that arise and learn new methods. Additional requirements: ⚡ Previous experience in visual effects for film and commercials. ⚡ Deep understanding of simulation techniques and technologies related to fx. ⚡ Creative ability and artistic talent that can be demonstrated with previous work done. ⚡ Advanced knowledge of Houdini, Maya and 3DsMax. ⚡ Knowledge and understanding of notions of physical behaviors, realistic movements and real phenomena at different scales. ⚡ Ability to work and solve technical problems that arise during the projects process. ⚡ Ability to work in a team and give positive instructions to freelancers and other artists who are involved in the projects. ⚡ Ability to effectively manage time and resources to create high-quality effects in a fast-paced production environment while working within time constraints and budget. ⚡ Excellent communication skills. ⚡ Must be able to act and respond quickly to adjustments and requests, having all files ordered to be able to change and identify the different versions and techniques. You will work with: Director, Lead General, Leads from other areas and art Director. Plus experience in: ⚡ Python and VEX programming skills highly desired. ⚡ Knowledge of programs: FumeFX, Thinking Particle, Krakatoa. Ploop is using Agile Recruitment for this process.
