Who We Are
Mettano is a fast-growing marketing agency with 1 mission: to become the leading agency for home service businesses across the US. We operate with urgency, precision, and a relentless commitment to exceed in everything we do. If you're looking for a high-performance environment where your work directly drives real growth, you'll thrive here.
Our Core Values
- Relentless Drive: We take challenges head-on and pursue ambitious goals with discipline and determination.
- World-Class Accountability: Every team member is held to the highest standards to ensure consistent exceptional performance and client success.
- Extreme Transparency: We communicate openly, solve problems directly, and operate with integrity at all times.
About the Role
As a WordPress Web Developer, you will own website production across our client base — building new sites, optimizing existing ones, handling migrations, and keeping everything running tight. You'll work primarily in WordPress and Elementor, occasionally with other platforms. You'll work closely with our SEO team on design, fixes, and implementation — and communicate directly with clients when needed. We keep our website builds lean and fast. If your instinct is to install a plugin for everything, this isn't the right fit.
Responsibilities
- Website Builds: Build responsive, conversion-focused websites primarily using WordPress and Elementor. Follow established design templates we've created and SOPs. Occasionally work with other CMS platforms as needed.
- Site Transfers & Technical Setup: Handle site migrations, domain transfers, DNS configuration, email setup, smtp troubleshooting, CRM integrations, Zapier connections, and third-party tool setup.
- Page Speed Optimization: Implement speed optimization on every build — image compression, lazy loading, caching, CDN, core web vitals. Troubleshoot and resolve speed issues on existing client sites.
- Website Maintenance: Execute content updates (content is provided from SEO team), layout changes, and new page additions each month. Handle plugin updates, troubleshooting, and minor bug fixes.
- Code-Level Customization: Targeted HTML, CSS, and JS adjustments. Basic PHP — theme customization, functions.php edits, plugin troubleshooting.
- Project Management: Run tasks through Monday.com.
- Staying Current: Stay ahead of CMS changes, tools, and industry shifts. You're the person who keeps our websites ahead of the curve.
- Communication: Daily work summaries. Weekly team meetings. Async updates via Loom. Team and occasional client communication via Slack.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ Years of Experience: Building and maintaining websites with WordPress and Elementor. Real builds across multiple projects.
- SEO Knowledge: Understanding of core SEO web essentials (heading tags, permalink structures, internal linking, image optimization).
- Design Eye: Strong attention to detail — spacing, alignment, typography, and consistency across pages.
- Excellent Communicator: Able to explain technical concepts in simple terms to the team and clients with confidence. Excellent English both speaking and writing is non-negotiable. Strong async communication is a must for a remote team across time zones.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Skilled at managing multiple projects and following through on every deliverable.
- Growth-Minded: Motivated to exceed expectations, solve problems, and win as a team in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Mettano?
- Fast-Paced, Results-Driven Culture: We move quickly, set high standards, and expect your best—but we also support your growth every step of the way.
- Clear Impact: You'll see the direct results of your work in our clients' business growth and in your own career progress.
- No Corporate Bureaucracy: We're lean, agile, and focused on execution. Good ideas get implemented — not buried in meetings.
- Growth Path: As we scale, your role scales with us. Prove yourself and the upside is real.
- Collaborative Team: Work closely with talented professionals who are committed to winning as a team.
Important Note
We're building something great — and we're doing it fast. If you're not ready to bring high energy and personal accountability to a fast-moving team, this role isn't for you. But if you're ready to build fast, build clean, and be part of an agency that's on the rise — a place where your work will be seen, appreciated, and rewarded — you'll find it here.
