Construction Bookkeeper at Prospectivity

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Bookkeeper to manage our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and be proficient in managing all aspects of bookkeeping for a dynamic construction environment. Reports twice a week to management through online video conferencing. Key Responsibilities: • Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. • Job Costing: Track and allocate costs to specific construction projects, ensuring accurate job costing and profitability analysis. • Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure consistency between company records and bank statements. • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and construction management tools to streamline financial processes. Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry • Proficiency in QuickBooks. • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing and percentage-of-completion methods. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with AIA billing and construction contracts. Compensation: • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
