Requirements and responsibilities

Job Purpose Summary As the FreightPOP Quality Manager, you are key member of the R&D Leadership Team, your proven track record will enable you to drive a significant quality transformation. Strategy, Structure, Discipline, Execution, Measure, Simplify, Build, Accelerate, and Scale are the key capabilities that will be your focus, while leading a team of QAs (Quality Analyst) and SDETs (Software Development Engineer Test). The Quality Manager owns QA strategy, automation direction, and release quality outcomes across the product. This role has authority to define quality gates, block releases when necessary, and partner with Engineering and Product leadership to enforce quality standards. Essential Job Functions/Requirements: • Own Quality, refine, drive and execute the overall strategy • Build and execute the company automation strategy, leveraging AI tools to simplify and scale team performance • Lead the automation acceleration strategy by selecting and deploying a Test Management System Solution, AI-assisted test case and test script development, with strong human-in-the-loop review and ownership. • Drive discipline in adhering to the quality assurance standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Organize and structure your team of manual and automated test engineers to ensure minimal production defect leakage • Measure performance through the establishment of Quality metrics and reporting dashboards for up and downstream stakeholders • Build the team to master the decomposition of business requirements into Use Cases and Acceptance Criteria • Clearly document and thoroughly execute Acceptance Tests • Organize, structure, and manage manual and automated test case libraries • Participate in SCRUM events, including Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, daily stand-up, and Sprint Review • Directly manage and develop a team of QA Analysts and SDETs • Mentor Quality team members and assist them with core quality competencies • Lead Quality process improvement initiatives • Collaborate effectively with team members and others in the organization to resolve testing issues • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies Immediate Quality First Focus: Release Quality & Discipline • Enforce release gates and quality standards • Reduce expedited work and production defect leakage Automation & Scale • Lead Cypress automation at scale • Decompose regression into PR, nightly, and release gates • Reduce manual testing dependency Team & Collaboration • Assess and develop QA team capabilities • Strengthen shift-left collaboration with Engineering and Product • Improve quality controls for onboarding, integrations, and configuration changes Job Qualifications Education • Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Experience Demonstrated experience leading QA teams in SaaS environments, with a strong focus on automation and Agile delivery. • 8+ Years software Quality Assurance experience with SaaS technology with significant automation experience • 4+ Years QA management/leadership experience Skills & Expertise Required (Must-Have) • QA leadership in SaaS environments • Automation-first testing mindset • Cypress experience at scale • Agile / SCRUM delivery • Release discipline and defect leakage prevention • Test metrics, reporting, and dashboards Nice-to-Have • Logistics / supply chain domain experience • .NET / C# exposure • AI-assisted testing tools • Professional services / i
