Safeware is headquartered in Lanham, MD, just outside of Washington, DC, with branches in Philadelphia, PA, Richmond, VA, Denver, CO, Gainesville, GA, Columbia, MD, Phoenix, AZ, and Miami, FL.Safeware’s Training and Service Division is seeking an experienced Trainer/Technician to manage and deliver training and technical service programs supporting private, local, state, and federal agencies.Job DescriptionThis management position is responsible for leading operations and providing sales support for training and technical services for assigned programs. Training includes teaching, curriculum development, and managing instructors delivering on-site, online, virtual instructor led training (VILT). Technical services include site assessments, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and technology.Work Location(s)Remote work from anywhere with connectivity (50%)Travel to support training programs and/or events (50%)Job DutiesThe duties and responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive and may be modified as business needs require.Manage Training OperationsDevelop and maintain training curriculumAssist marketing by creating content to market Safeware services and expertise including online posts and podcastsAttend and present at professional conferences/tradeshowsManage inbound requests for training information and availabilityObtain and maintain certifications/credentials from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) for performing OEM certified trainingCoordinate training scheduling including instructor and training resource availabilityCoordinate with Safeware customers to determine training needs and arranging needed logistics.Coordinate required logistics to deliver training coursesManage training course budgets including expenses and payrollTeach approximately five days per month including weekends or evenings as needed to match customer shift schedules.Technical ServicesObtain and certifications/credentials from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) for performing OEM certified service and repairs.Assess locations for installation of equipment and technologyManage or perform equipment installations at facilities or in vehiclesManage or perform maintenance and calibrations on equipmentConduct assessment and repairs on damaged equipmentProvide training for service techniciansOversee technical services quality assurancePreferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong organization skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong training and presentation skillsAbility to set priorities and meet deadlines while working independentlyAbility to use and learn technology tools including use of Microsoft Office SuiteFlexible schedule including availability for some nights and weekendsExperience in the military, responder, or law enforcement preferred but not requiredExperience conducting equipment calibration, maintenance, and repairs.Experience leading small teamsExperience developing training curriculum
