Requirements and responsibilities

About MorphoMorpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol that raised $70 million from Ribbit Capital, a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Variant, Brevan Howard, Pantera, Blocktower, and 50 others to build an open lending network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing explosive growth, with over $10 billion in deposits on the network, solidifying itself as the new standard for DeFi lending. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as a cornerstone, not just of DeFi, but of a new internet-native financial system.LocationParis or remote (from -5h GMT up to +2h GMT to ensure sufficient overlap with the rest of the team).RoleThe mission of this role is to own Morpho’s infrastructure platform end-to-end so the engineering org can ship faster, operate safely at institutional reliability standards, and scale across chains and regions without reliability or indexing bottlenecks.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and scale production infrastructure with pragmatic patterns and automation to achieve high availability and predictable performance under $10B+ deposits.Build self-service infrastructure with developer tooling and paved paths to reduce deployment time, unblock engineers, and increase deploy frequency.Design and evolve high-performance data and indexing systems with scalable architectures to process billions of on-chain events with sub-minute latency.Establish GitOps-based deployment practices with progressive rollouts and safe rollback mechanisms to reduce MTTR and increase operational confidence.Implement end-to-end observability with metrics, tracing, and alerting to proactively detect issues and meet agreed SLOs.Lead incident management and post-mortems with clear written follow-ups to improve reliability, learning, and long-term system health.Drive infrastructure strategy through written RFCs, infrastructure-as-code standards, and cross-team alignment to ensure infrastructure decisions map to product and business impact. What Success Looks LikeFirst 30 days:Build deep context on Morpho’s on-chain deployment patterns, core services, and current infra pain points.Align on reliability and developer velocity targets, and document an initial infrastructure strategy and priorities.Set a rhythm for incident reviews and architecture discussions.First 4 months:Deliver first visible improvements to developer velocity (CI/CD, deployment workflow, tooling) and reliability (alerting coverage, clearer on-call / incident process).Reduce the biggest bottlenecks blocking product delivery, including critical indexing and data pipeline constraints.Put in place foundations for secure access (IAM, secrets) and consistent infra practices (IaC + GitOps). In 1 year:Achieve multi-region readiness for at least one tier-1 surface with tested failover meeting agreed RTO/RPO.Improve developer productivity meaningfully (faster deploys, fewer pages, smoother operations) while meeting SLOs.Reduce platform unit costs through measured optimization and a strong, simple operating model.Must-have Experience & Skills10+ years building and scaling production infrastructure, with clear ownership of reliability and delivery outcomes.Proven experience leading infrastructure transformations that improved developer velocity and system reliability.Strong systems thinking and ability to translate infrastructure decisions into clear trade-offs and business impact.Calm under pressure, with experience leading incident response and post-mortems for high-stakes outages.Clear async communication: writes crisp RFCs, runbooks, and incident reviews that others can execute without meetings.Ownership and autonomy in a fast-changing, remote-first environment.HumblePerks & BenefitsWe design benefits around deep work and growth, so you can do the best work of your career. Expect fair, top-tier compensation, real flexibility, time together in Paris, great health coverage, and support to keep learning.Equal OpportunityWe welcome applicants from all backgrounds and hire based on talent, potential, and values alignment.Ready to shape the future of finance?
