Responsibilities

As the General Manager, you will serve as the operational and strategic backbone of our firm, bridging the gap between business health, community values, and technical execution. Your primary mission is to optimize day-to-day operations, lead our interdisciplinary team, and develop the systems necessary to secure and execute broader public agency work. Because you will lead a team of highly technical professionals and build scalable systems, you must hold a relevant professional credential (PE, PLA, PLS, or AICP), with a strong preference for a Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) who understands master planning, sustainability, and land development workflows. Key Responsibilities * Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations for our office, ensuring civil engineering, surveying, planning, and natural resource teams collaborate seamlessly. * Market Expansion & Strategy: Partner with ownership to design and execute a growth strategy targeted at winning and managing state and federal agency contracts, while maintaining market dominance locally. * Financial Management: Manage the company’s P&L, optimize resource allocation, track project metrics, and monitor employee billing/utilization rates to drive firm profitability. * Project Quality Oversight: Ensure all project workflows align with our commitment to high-quality engineering and environmentally conscious land design. * Team Development & Culture: Mentor staff, manage performance, and maintain a highly collaborative, accountable, and positive firm culture that values both hard work and the outdoor lifestyle. * Process Optimization: Refine internal project management frameworks and evaluation systems to prepare the firm to scale for larger public and private contracts.
