This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded, and contributing to various accounting projects. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration.This position works both independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of assigned areas while operating within a controlled, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings a combination of public accounting and industry experience, is highly analytical, and takes full ownership of assigned areas and deliverables from end to end.Duties Include:Maintain financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAPOwn the accuracy, completeness, and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure financial results are properly statedPrepare and record journal entries and perform bank and balance sheet reconciliationsPartner with the Finance to support financial reporting by delivering accurate, timely, and well-supported accounting dataMeet established close deadlines (monthly, quarterly, and year-end), including working through tight timelines and competing priorities during close periods.Analyze large and complex data sets to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and drive issues through resolutionIdentify risks, issues, and process improvement opportunities within assigned areasPartner with cross-functional teams to obtain, analyze, and validate data needed for journal entries and reconciliationsSupport external audits, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor inquiriesOperate effectively within a controlled accounting environment, including documentation, review processes, and audit readinessPartner with the Corporate Accounting Manager and other team member on ad hoc requests, special projects, and process improvementsWho You Are:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret data and confidently drive conversations through resolutionExcellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionallyDetail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ownershipAdaptable, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced close environmentRequired Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance8+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience (audit or assurance) and industry experience as a Senior Accountant at a prior companyStrong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting close processesExperience operating in a controlled environment with documented processes and reviewsDemonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take full ownership of workstreamsExperience supporting auditsRequired Technical & Analytical Skills:Advanced Excel proficiency required, including:Ability to independently build, audit, and maintain complex spreadsheets used in close and reconciliation processesPivotTables for analyzing large data sets and resolving issuesAdvanced formulasAbility to work with large and complex data sets to identify trends, discrepancies, and resolutionsExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar)Working Requirements:Fully remote roleMust be able to work Pacific Time (PST) business hoursWhat We OfferWe want our team members to thrive, not just professionally but personally.
