Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Event Planner to support the development efforts of Protect Life Michigan. This role is crucial in managing administrative tasks and ensuring the success of our annual Vision Dinners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, a strong communicator, and highly organized.This position is part-time, and we are looking for a candidate who can work approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Sr. Director of Growth and Development Team to plan the Vision Dinners and other partner events, ensuring the organization has the resources needed to meet our needs.1.  Event PlanningAssist in planning and executing PLM’s Vision Dinners, including logistics, speaker coordination, guest communication, venue negotiations, volunteer coordination, table host recruitment oversight, and timelines.Manage RSVP tracking, table assignments, seating, check-in, and financial partner experience flow.Coordinate event volunteers and staff roles to ensure smooth and professional execution.Support follow-up strategies to maximize post-event engagement and long-term financial partner cultivation.This individual will also help coordinate other, smaller financial partner events throughout the year (table host update dinners, namestorming parties, etc.)Overseeing event logistics, including venue coordination and event materials.2.  Administrative & Organizational SupportMaintain detailed records of partner interactions in CRM and Google Sheets, keeping donor databases and contact lists up to date.Maintain consistent messaging and branding across all donor communications, keeping in alignment with the Executive Director’s vision and communication style.Serve as a point of contact for inquiries via phone and email, maintaining professionalism and warmth.Monitor and respond to emails and calls, providing timely and thoughtful responses.Assist with general administrative duties, including data entry, document preparation, and CRM management related to key partner events and the Vision Dinner.Support leadership and development efforts by performing additional administrative tasks as needed.Qualifications & Skills1.  Mission-Driven & In Sync with LeadershipDeeply aligned with our mission, vision, and values.Passionate about nonprofit development and partner engagement.Works well with leadership, anticipating needs and taking initiative.2.  Highly Organized & Detail-OrientedExcellent time management skills; able to track and complete multiple tasks efficiently.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.3.  Strong CommunicatorExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent the organization professionally.Ability to write compelling Cultivation Letters and emails that personalize outreach while maintaining a professional tone.Comfortable making partner outreach calls and scheduling calls and meetings.4.  Tech-Savvy & AdaptableExperience using CRMs, spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel), and mail merge tools.Familiarity with scheduling tools like Calendly to streamline partner engagement.Basic knowledge of email marketing platforms is a plus.QualificationsDeeply aligned with Protect Life Michigan’s mission, vision, and valuesPassionate about nonprofit development and partner engagementWorks well with leadership, anticipating needs and taking initiativeHighly organized and detail-orientedExcellent time management skills and able to track and complete multiple tasks efficientlyDetail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skillsComfortable handling confidential information with discretionStrong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to write compelling stories in a professional toneComfortable making partner outreach calls and scheduling calls and meetingsTech-Savvy and AdaptableExperience using CRMs and mailmerge toolsGoogle Sheet or Excel experience required.Events planning and/or financial partner growth experience strongly preferred.Proven experience and impressive results in event planning or organizingAbility to build productive relationships with supporters, students, and the communityAbility to work occasional nights and weekends.Salary/BenefitsSalary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience.Benefits include:After completing 1 year of work, eligibility for an employer-matched Simple IRA.Ample professional development opportunities.Protect Life Michigan is a support-raising organization, and each member of our staff is expected to develop a personal support team.
