Are you an engineer who wants to use your cloud infrastructure skills for global impact? Virufy is looking for a structured and mission-driven Azure Cloud Engineer to help us build and scale the backbone of AI-driven healthcare!Born out of the Stanford University COVID-19 Response Innovation Lab, Virufy is a nonprofit research consortium of volunteers from 25+ countries. We are developing a smartphone app for the detection of COVID-19 to provide widespread, accessible, and free testing for everyone.What You’ll Do:Collaborate on Infrastructure Architecture: Partner with the development team to design and deploy scalable, secure infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.Execute Performance Optimization: Monitor cloud resource utilization and implement cost-effective scaling strategies for high-volume data traffic.Analyze Security Protocols: Implement robust encryption, identity management, and access controls to protect sensitive research data.Lead DevOps Integration: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and secure software deployments across a network spanning 200 countries.Who You Are:Hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud environments, specifically within Microsoft Azure.Familiar with Azure core services (App Services, Azure Functions, Blob Storage, IAM) and cloud security best practices.Experience with CI/CD automation tools, Git/GitHub workflows, and infrastructure management.Organized, collaborative, and able to work independently within a distributed, remote engineering team.Passionate about cloud engineering, healthcare equity, and social impact.Why Join Virufy?Portfolio: Gain real-world experience architecting and securing a global cloud platform.Network: Work alongside One Young World ambassadors and world-class researchers from Berkeley, Stanford, and Cornell.Flexibility: 100% Remote | 10+ hours/week | Part-time volunteer basis.
