If you thrive in high-stakes environments and love building robust platforms that solve real-world problems, we want to talk to you.ResponsibilitiesLead and scale a team of high-performing engineers, providing mentorship and career development.Own the delivery and execution of the Email Security roadmap, ensuring high velocity without compromising on quality or reliability.Drive architectural decisions for complex, high-throughput distributed systems and platforms.Partner cross-functionally with Product and Security teams to align technical strategy with customer needs.Foster a culture of operational excellence, overseeing oncall rotations, incident response, and system health.What We're Looking ForExtensive experience as a strong IC in distributed systems or backend infrastructure, with a proven track record of transitioning into successful engineering management.Experience managing teams of engineers in a high-scale, high-growth environment.Strong product sense and the ability to translate technical constraints into product tradeoffs.Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional partners like Product and Security.Startup agility: A low-ego, "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced settings.Material Security is a remote-first workplace with an office in San Francisco, California.Compensation at Material Security is determined by a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
