You'll collaborate with a fun and close-knit agile team to architect, build, test and continuously deliver new features and products to our customers.The Lead Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, and lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, and quality guidelines. Advises leaders to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects2 or more years of project leadership experience5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects from conception to completion.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesShould have a strong foundation in software development including proficiency in programming and deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Must have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to analyze complex technical challenges, identify optimal solutions, and troubleshoot issues as they arise throughout the development processMust demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesExperience developing cloud solutions for large scale enterpriseExperience with Java Springboot Development with public or private cloudExperience working on Microservice Architecture and cloud design patterns3-5 years Java, Spring boot, Spring Batch3-5 years REST API DevelopmentNoSQL DB (Preferably Mongo DB)Azure Hands-on experience (or any other public cloud AWS, GCP, PCF)Familiarity with Dev-Ops Processes (CI/CD, Automation)Experience working in a Scrum/Agile setupExperience using AI code-assist tools such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to accelerate software development, testing, documentation, and delivery.Ability to promote responsible AI-assisted engineering practices while ensuring code quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with enterprise standards.Preferred QualificationsMaster's DegreeExperience with both frontend and backend developmentKafka - event driven solution developmentKubernetes, Containerization SkillsFront End Development (Angular or React js)Azure Certification is strongly preferred.Why Humana?At Humana, we know your well-being is important to you, and it's important to us too.
