Job DescriptionZoox is looking for software engineers to build the tools that power our autonomous ride sharing service. Our Operational Tools Team is a crucial part of Zoox’s mission to deliver autonomous ride-hailing to the world.We're building a team of highly collaborative and talented people with a diverse set of expertise. If you’re passionate about building great software that’s crucial to solving the biggest engineering challenge of our time, we'd love to chat!Our Operational Tools are essential for the safe and effective use of our ever-growing fleet of autonomous robotaxis. As an engineer on the team, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and remote operators to build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale, provide in-vehicle visualization systems and provide live ride support to our growing rider base.If you like working on new and innovative challenges to solve unique problems by working across domains and having direct impact, this is the role for you!In this role you will:Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service under the supervision of more senior engineersCollaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers to build new features.Collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance existing software systems by optimizing latency, CPU/memory usage, and database queries.Have the chance to grow with the support of your manager, mentor and team members.Qualifications3+ years of experience in software developmentSolid foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS or PythonExperience with a Front End UI Framework (e.g., Vue, React, Svelte) or a web framework (e.g., Flask, FastAPI)Excellent communication and collaboration skillsBonus QualificationsProficiency in a low-level language such as Java, Kotlin, C, C++, or Rust.Familiarity with low-level Linux system protocols, firmware, and ECUs.Experience developing tools that support operations.Salary Range$153,000 - $230,000 a yearBase Salary RangeAbout ZooxZoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.
