Our goal is to become the industry's source of truth and the gold standard for chemical & supplier information. As our first data engineering leader, you’ll be instrumental in helping us achieve this.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate the critical business needs of Valdera’s ops team and end users to design effective data solutions
- Lead the re-design and re-construction of the data layer that empowers Valdera to access accurate information on suppliers
- Design and architect efficient continuous data ETL pipelines from numerous external data sources
- Architect our data warehouse modeling layer and establish the schemas which will serve as the foundation for scaling our data
- Build out experiments and analytics to demonstrate efficiency of data acquisition and end quality of data
- Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team and culture within your department
- Identify gaps and quality issues in our data and improve current data acquisition/cleaning methods
- Normalize, sanitize, and validate unstructured data for operational and product use
- Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team
- Help us grow the data team by participating in candidate interviews and networking
