With a strong background in professional translation and a high-level understanding of chess, you are the ideal candidate to ensure our content resonates perfectly with German-speaking chess enthusiasts everywhere.What you'll doHelp translate user interfaces of all Chesscom apps (Chesscom, Chesscom Mobile, ChessKid, ChessKid Mobile, Dr Wolf, etc).Help translate marketing campaigns.Help translate Coach analysis / Game Review.Help translate bot chat for monthly bot events.Translate & edit graphical assets.Review previously submitted translations and ensure they're high quality.Preferred SkillsBasic graphic editing skills.Demonstrated expertise in chess with a deep understanding of its terminology.Proven professional experience in translating complex texts between English and German.Exceptional linguistic knowledge, including a strong grasp of language theory and structure.Native or near-native fluency in both English and German.Excellent communication skills with a high degree of responsiveness and the ability to work effectively on collaborative platforms like Slack.Proven ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines, occasionally within a 24-48 hour turnaround time (sometimes including weekends/holidays).About the OpportunityThis is a freelance role with a variable workload, compensated on a per-word basis.We are 100% remote (work from anywhere!)
