Responsibilities

Over 9,000 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data.About the roleHi, my name is Megan Berry, Senior Director of Product Management at Customer.io, and I'm looking for a Product Manager to improve how customers experience their first weeks with us. Our self-serve business is a growing part of how customers discover and adopt Customer.io, and this role sits at the center of that motion, working alongside our Senior PM on the self-serve pod. You'll have real ownership over a defined slice of the journey, with the data, experimentation muscle, and cross-functional partners to move it.What we valueCustomer empathy — you dig into what's actually slowing customers down, not just what the dashboard says.Bias to experiment — you'd rather run a test than debate an opinion.Clear communication — you make complex tradeoffs easy for others to follow.Ownership without ego — you drive your area forward and know when to ask for help. What you'll doOwn the product experience of the self-serve journey for a defined set of surfaces — from signup and onboarding through activation and upgrade.Find and resolve friction points using data, experimentation, and customer insight.Define and track success metrics for activation, retention, and monetization.Partner with Marketing, CX, and Design to keep the experience consistent across touchpoints.Work with Engineering to scope and deliver improvements that reduce time-to-value.Run A/B tests and growth experiments to find what drives conversion and engagement.Communicate priorities and progress clearly across teams and leadership. What we're looking for3+ years of product management experience in SaaS, ideally with self-serve or product-led growth exposure.Experience using or developing AI-powered tooling in your product workflowA track record of improving activation or retention metrics.Strong analytical and experimentation skills — data-driven but comfortable with ambiguity.Experience collaborating across Product, Marketing, and CX.A clear communicator who simplifies complexity and drives alignment.Deep curiosity about what helps customers succeed.Comfort working autonomously in a remote, async-first environment.Compensation & BenefitsWe believe in transparency. Starting salary for this role is $137k–$156k USD (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.Zone 1: $164,400–$187,200.Zone 2: $150,700–$171,600.Zone 3: $137,000–$156,000.We also offer 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you and your family, 16 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, stipends for remote work and wellness, a professional development budget, and more. All final candidates will be asked to complete a background check and employment verifications as part of our pre-employment process.Zoom is the only video conference platform that we use, virtual interviews will be conducted using the video capability (i.e., not via the chat), and offers will be extended in writing on official Customer.io letterhead.
