You'll own the QA function at the studio level, not just the day-to-day testing operations, but the people, the processes, and the long-term vision for how quality is achieved and maintained across our projects. As we work toward our PlayStation and PC launch of 4:Loop, you'll be the person who ensures the entire studio is rowing in the same direction when it comes to quality.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate and plan timelines and milestone deliveries, ensuring focus testing is carried out at the prescribed time for each titleCreate and implement comprehensive test plans and evaluate bug write-ups for any defects or design issues found during testingSet up and coordinate internal focus testing sessions in collaboration with production teamsServe as the primary point of contact and manage external partners to coordinate testing and playtesting across all studio projectsDevelop the QA team, owning performance reviews, and career developmentManage work allocations and contributions across the team to deliver at the Bad Robot Games quality barOwn QA objectives, milestones, and craft standards across all studio projectsPartner with studio leadership to define and evolve the studio wide quality barEstablish and champion QA best practices, documentation standards, and onboarding processes as the studio scalesReport regularly to executive stakeholders on quality status, risk, and team capacityCollaborate and sync with Production to understand priorities and advise on or establish timelinesContribute directly to the testing and verification of buildsInteract and communicate with leadership regarding testing progress and blockersValidate builds for use in daily playtests, Friends & Family sessions, and other internal and external phases or eventsUtilize Jira day to day to assign bugs, create reports and dashboards, delegate tasks, communicate across disciplines, and ensure testing runs smoothlyTroubleshoot technical issues with other disciplines as necessaryDevelop measurable and adaptable ways to track work in progress and understand bug resolution velocityAssist with dev kit setup and bug replication across PlayStation and PC platformsWork off-hours when needed to support milestone and release schedulesKEY QUALIFICATIONS8+ years of QA experience in the game industry, with at least one AAA title shipped with a credit as QA Lead, QA Manager, or equivalentDeep Jira expertise with reports, dashboards, workflows, and cross-discipline communicationHands on experience with Unreal Engine, including familiarity with its build pipeline and debugging toolsProven experience testing on PlayStation and PC platforms, including platform certification and submission processesExperience with PlayStation certification (TRC) processes and submission pipelinesExperience hiring, mentoring, and managing QA team members at multiple levelsExperience planning with production and establishing QA best practices at the team or studio levelAbility to scale testing environments and processes in a fully remote studio environmentStrong understanding of test methodologies, including functional, automation, end-to-end, accessibility, and performance testing against iterative development cyclesExperience with black box, white box, and cross platform testingExperience writing test plans and identifying gaps in test coverageFamiliarity with certification, functional, and usability testing processesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across a multidisciplinary teamAll of our roles require up to 10% air travel.
