Requirements and responsibilities

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.We started by building a network that connects teachers, children, and families. Today, ClassDojo is used in the vast majority of U.S. schools and reaches tens of millions of students and families globally. We’re now expanding beyond communication to build experiences that help kids learn, grow, and thrive—both in and outside the classroom. One of those experiences is Dojo Tutor, which connects kids with caring, experienced teachers for 1:1 and group tutoring sessions that boost their skills and confidence. We’re already operating at a large scale and regularly hear from families and tutors about how Dojo Tutor is changing kids’ and tutors’ lives for the better. But we’re just getting started—and we have ambitious goals for growing Dojo Tutor’s reach and impact this year and beyond. We are a small, high-talent-density team with deep experience across consumer technology and education. We care deeply about our mission and aim to build a company where people can do the most meaningful work of their careers.About the role:We’re looking for a Strategy and Operations Lead to drive some of the most important and least-defined priorities within our Tutor business. This role exists because several critical initiatives, including tutoring quality & safety systems, new growth opportunities, and tutor community engagement, are currently unowned or fragmented across teams. You will take full ownership of these areas and drive them from idea to execution, ensuring they result in real, measurable outcomes. This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role. You’ll operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—identifying what needs to happen, creating structure where none exists, and making sure work actually gets done. You will be responsible not just for launching new initiatives, but also for owning and improving core systems that ensure high-quality and safe tutoring experiences at scale. What you’ll do: You will own and execute high-priority Tutor initiatives end-to-end, including:Own tutoring quality & safety systems (AI-enabled)Define and track key quality and safety metrics, and drive measurable improvementsBuild AI-enabled tools that monitor and improve safety & quality at scaleDesign systems that maintain high standards while preserving a fair and supportive experience for tutorsDrive new growth initiativesIdentify and evaluate new growth opportunitiesConduct targeted research and synthesize insights into clear recommendationsDrive prioritization and decision-making on which opportunities to pursueLaunch and validate new initiatives, including setting up pilots and defining success metricsBuild scalable playbooks and define clear criteria for scaling, iterating, or stoppingEngage and support the tutor communityFacilitate meaningful knowledge sharing and collaboration among tutors (async and live)Build trust with tutors and serve as a strong advocate for their needs internallyMeasure and improve tutor sentiment (e.g., NPS, engagement)Establish consistent communication and feedback loops with tutorsTranslate tutor insights into clear, actionable improvements across the businessTutors are the beating heart of our entire operation. Our business and our impact on kids and families are only possible because of our tutors. Supporting them, understanding their needs, and advocating for them are essential responsibilities in this role. You will work cross-functionally with a high-performing team of operators, data scientists, product managers, marketers, designers, and engineers to grow and improve our business, helping tutors, students, and families thrive. This is a critical role with tremendous growth potential. You might be a good fit if:Have 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-ownership environmentHave owned cross-functional projects or initiatives end-to-end with measurable resultsAre comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none existsHave strong user empathy and are able to build trust with educators
