About 1PasswordAt 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work. We’re seeking an Intermediate Developer with a full-stack or backend-focused background to join our Enterprise Tenants and Policies team,This team focuses on the B2B side of our Enterprise Password Manager. We build features that help large organizations manage 1Password at scale. Our team focuses on multi-tenancy and linked accounts, policies that give businesses control over how 1Password operates across their organizations, and intuitive admin experiences for managing groups, teams, and other configurations. As we continue moving from a monolithic application toward a microservice architecture, you’ll help evolve our policy services and build enterprise features that work across multiple services and codebases. How we’re using AI todayOur Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.What we're looking for:You have 2+ years of experience in software developmentExperience with a modern backend language (e.g. Go, Node.js, Ruby, or Python)A drive for and proven experience in software development best practices and coding standardsYou enjoy solving moderately complex problems and have demonstrated an ability to propose effective solutionsYou enjoy communicating and collaborating, with experience working effectively across teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical cross-functional partnersYou’re passionate about testing methodologies and debugging techniques that ensure high-quality codeYou’re comfortable working across multiple services and collaborating with other teams to deliver complete, impactful solutionsBonus points for:Experience with DevOps practices while also contributing to application developmentExperience working with Kubernetes and infrastructure configurationExperience working with microservices or distributed systemsExperience building frontends with TypeScript and ReactExposure to security, enterprise, or admin-focused productsWhat you can expect:Code, test, debug, deliver, and maintain production software systems for new and existing enterprise featuresBuild features that support multi-tenancy, linked accounts, policy management, and the admin console experienceContribute to the team’s transition from a monolithic application toward a microservice architectureCollaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders throughout the development cycle to ensure smooth releasesCoordinate with partner teams working in areas such as authentication and authorization, insights, and managed service providersWork with your teammates and project manager to communicate technical requirements to stakeholders and solve technical problems in a scalable and realistic wayContribute to design and architecture documents, helping ensure solutions are thoughtfully planned and deliver their intended impactMentor junior and new team members by helping them understand team expectations, providing technical guidance, sharing knowledge, and engaging in pair programming sessionsParticipate in planning by identifying major tasks and breaking down, estimating, and planning workWrite comprehensive tests during various stages of the development cycle, ensuring code functions as expectedReview code for others to maintain high code quality, share knowledge within the team, and support a safe environment for giving and receiving feedbackGenerate and review documentation on code and development processes to ensure scalabilityStay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and development best practicesBe available for on-call rotational work to ensure uninterrupted support and resolve emergenciesUSA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $123,000 USD and $172,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $111,000 CAD and $155,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. Our culture At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first. How we work with AIWe are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. ... candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process.
