About Odd BunchOdd Bunch is on a mission to make fresh produce more affordable and accessible across Canada. We are a fast-growing, sustainable subscription-based produce service, helping Canadians save thousands of dollars on their grocery bills, supporting local farmers, fighting food waste, donating to families suffering from food insecurity, and building a better planet in the process. We currently operate in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, with most of our team located in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and London.About The RoleWe're building a grocery and pantry vertical that takes our rescue-first model beyond produce. Think shelf-stable products: pasta, rice & grains, sauces & marinades, snacks, bakery items, and other cooking staples. Products that are overproduced, surplus, short-dated, or cosmetically imperfect. The kind of stuff that ends up in landfill because it didn't sell fast enough or the label was printed wrong. We think that's a problem worth solving. The General Manager, Pantry role is the first hire for this vertical. You're not plugging into an existing function. You're creating one.We need someone who can build net new supplier relationships and a product pipeline from scratch. There's no vendor list. No playbook. No approval workflow to sit behind. The person in this role will go find the supply, figure out what belongs in our boxes, while maintaining a close eye on economics and user feedback throughout the process. This new business line is being built on top of the existing Odd Bunch platform that already serves tens of thousands of Canadians every week, with triple digit year-over-year growth over the last three years. The foundation is there. The pantry vertical is the next layer, and the leader who builds it will have real ownership over what it becomes. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with a strong team across marketing, operations, and inventory who already know how to scale an impact-first subscription business. There's meaningful support around you, but the direction of this business line is yours to shape. What You’ll DoSupplier Development & SourcingBuild relationships with Canadian CPG manufacturers, food distributors, liquidation companies, and surplus brokers. Direct outreach is part of the job. So is showing up in person when it mattersIdentify and secure opportunistic supply: overproduced inventory, cosmetic rejects, short-dated products, surplus stock, and anything else that should be ending up on plates instead of in the landfillDevelop a growing pipeline of pantry product suppliers across dry goods, bakery, sauces, snacks, canned products, and adjacent categoriesNegotiate landed costs and supply terms that work within our margin structureChampion Odd Bunch's rescue-first mission. Be the person suppliers want to work with because you actually understand their waste problem and can offer real solutions; not just for them, but for the food system & environment at largeThink beyond obvious sourcing channels. Major manufacturers are one channel, but so are emerging Canadian DTC brands, regional wholesale distributors, and food liquidation networksProduct Curation & Box StrategyDefine what a weekly pantry box actually looks like. Which products anchor the rotation, which ones rotate seasonally, how the mix stays fresh for someone who's been subscribed for a yearBalance familiar pantry staples with items that surprise and keep people engagedWork closely with the marketing, operations, and inventory teams to align what goes in our boxes vs. what customers actually want, while balancing operational & supply chain feasibilityBuild a strong understanding of our subscriber base. What do they want, what will they try, what keeps them coming backUnit Economics & P&L OwnershipOwn the margin structure for the pantry business line, from landed cost per item to box-level profitabilityBuild and iterate on the financial model as the vertical scales. Find the opportunities to improve unit economics without cutting corners on product qualityTrack the metrics that matter: cost per box, margin per SKU, supplier diversification, category mixWork with the team to set pricing strategy and growth targetsBrand & StorytellingBe a visible champion of the pantry vertical, both internally and with external stakeholdersHelp bring supplier stories and sourcing narratives to life for our community.
