Requirements and responsibilities

Location: - Must already be in Boston, MA. - This is a hybrid role. - This now has a potential to be a temp to hire role. Experience: - Must be very strong with Python. - Looking for 15+ years of experience. Required Skills: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. - 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a lead role. - Strong command of full stack development: Javascript (React/Angular), Node.js or Java/.NET/ Python and SQL. - Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services (Glue, Lambda, API gateway, IAM, S3, CloudWatch etc.). - CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Github Actions, Terraform or CloudFormation. - Strong API development and integration experience. - Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium). - Proven ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional delivery in a matrix environment. Desired Skills: - Prior experience working in Asset Management, Investment Banking or Wealth Management. - Knowledge of front office platform and workflows: OMS, PMS and risk engines. - Experience with ETF platforms and fund lifecycle processes. - Familiarity with Snowflake, Python and event driven architecture. - Exposure to regulatory reporting, ESG data pipelines or performance attribution systems. Job Duties: - Drive full stack application development using modern technologies across cloud-native and hybrid architectures. - Design and implement scalable APIs with strong security, monitoring and logging frameworks. - Develop rich UI components using frameworks such as React or Angular. - Manage AWS based infrastructure components and CI/CD pipelines (CloudFormation, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS etc.). - Own the production environment operations and applications. - Be responsible for reviewing and approving all changes before they are deployed into your production environment. - Collaborate with business and product teams to shape requirements and translate them into technical specifications and delivery plans. - Interface with vendors (e.g., Blackrock Aladdin, Snowflake, etc.) for issue resolution, feature enhancements and to ensure robust system integration. - Continuously seek automation opportunities to improve team efficiency. Typical Day: - Leading development activities across full stack investment technology platforms. - Designing cloud-based architecture and APIs supporting portfolio management and trading systems. - Developing front-end interfaces using React or Angular and backend services using Node.js, Java, .NET, or Python. - Managing AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. - Working with investment technology stakeholders, product teams, and operations to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Supporting production environments and approving deployment changes.
