What you will be doingReport Development (50%)Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design languageMigrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic modelAutomate/streamline manual processesRegulatory Reporting (20%)Ongoing monitoring of exceptions, including engagement with business partners to resolve data discrepanciesCollection and curation of data points from business partnersExecution of regulatory data preparation processesDocumented validation of datasets against system of recordSemantic Model Maintenance (10%)Update semantic models to support new reporting needsMonitor model efficiency and implement changes as needed to optimize performanceReport Maintenance (10%)Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as neededDocumentation (5%)Document report development processes for business contingency purposesMaintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationshipsMaintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audienceMaintain reporting changelogTeam Support & Other Duties (5%)Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as neededQualifications3+ years’ experience in a data or business intelligence focused role3+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining3+ years’ experience collecting and documenting business requirementsMortgage experience preferredRequired SkillsIntermediate proficiency with Power BI:Understand how to navigate semantic modelsUnderstand/create dynamic measures using DAXPower Query for data sourcing/transformationRow-level security implementationCalculation groupsData visualizationIntermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL):Standard select queriesJoins across multivariate datasets including multiple keysData normalizationWindow functions and methodsStrong written and verbal communication skillsThis opportunity is fully remote with the option to work from our offices in San Diego, CA, Irvine, CA, or Omaha, NE for those who prefer an office environment.
