This position combines business development, sales, opportunity development, partnerships, grants and contracts, prospect outreach, and growth execution. The ideal candidate is resourceful, organized, comfortable communicating with prospective clients and partners, and capable of helping move opportunities from initial identification through development, pursuit, follow-up, and potential conversion. This is not solely an administrative position. The selected contractor will have an active role in helping Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC identify, develop, pursue, and convert business opportunities. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Research and identify prospective clients, organizations, partners, and business opportunities Conduct professional B2B prospecting and outreach Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients and partners Participate in business-development and sales strategy Identify opportunities to generate consulting, technology, SaaS, training, and professional-services revenue Qualify prospective clients, leads, and business opportunities Conduct prospect follow-up and help advance opportunities through the business-development pipeline Participate in prospective-client conversations, presentations, and meetings as assigned Develop and execute outreach approaches for specific markets, services, and company offerings Research government, corporate, nonprofit, education, and other contracting opportunities Identify relevant RFPs, RFQs, solicitations, procurement opportunities, and subcontracting opportunities Assist with bid/no-bid evaluation and opportunity qualification Support proposal development, including research, written content, supporting documentation, capability information, and submission preparation Assist with responding to RFPs, RFQs, and other business solicitations Track procurement requirements, registrations, deadlines, documentation, and next actions Research relevant grants, funding programs, and other business funding opportunities Assist with grant qualification, research, application development, supporting documentation, and submissions Help identify and develop strategic partnerships, referral relationships, subcontracting arrangements, and collaborative business opportunities Participate in authorized negotiations and business-development discussions Assist with developing business cases, presentations, capability materials, and other opportunity-development materials Help move qualified opportunities toward proposals, agreements, contracts, purchases, partnerships, or other conversions Participate in closing activities and post-proposal follow-up Maintain accurate records for prospects, opportunities, proposals, grants, contracts, partnerships, and business-development activity Use company-approved systems and technology to manage and document business-development activities Monitor business-development results and help identify which strategies and outreach activities are producing meaningful opportunities Provide regular pipeline, outreach, opportunity, proposal, and conversion updates Recommend improvements to business-development processes, outreach strategies, and growth initiatives Protect confidential company, prospect, partner, and client information Follow applicable company policies and requirements regarding communications, privacy, confidentiality, and compliance Sales & Business Development The coordinator will actively contribute to the company’s sales and business-development process. This may include prospecting, lead qualification, relationship development, opportunity discovery, sales conversations, proposal follow-up, objection handling, and activities designed to move qualified prospects toward a business relationship. The coordinator may also recommend new markets, outreach approaches, partnership opportunities, and potential service opportunities based on research and business-development activity. Grants & Contract Opportunities The coordinator will help Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC identify and pursue appropriate grant, government contracting, corporate contracting, subcontracting, procurement, and funding opportunities. Responsibilities may include researching opportunities, reviewing eligibility and requirements, tracking deadlines, gathering documentation, contributing to written responses, assisting with grant and proposal development, preparing supporting materials, and helping coordinate submissions. The coordinator may participate throughout the opportunity lifecycle rather than only identifying opportunities. Partnerships & Growth The coordinator will also help identify and develop relationships that may lead to strategic partnerships, referral relationships, subcontracting arrangements, technology collaborations, education partnerships, consulting engagements, and other mutually beneficial business opportunities. The objective is to help turn qualified relationships and opportunities into measurable business growth. Decision-Making & Authority The Business Development & Growth Coordinator will have an active role in developing and pursuing opportunities and may communicate directly with prospective clients, partners, vendors, agencies, and other organizations within their assigned responsibilities. The coordinator may contribute to sales strategy, proposals, grant applications, contract opportunities, negotiations, partnership development, and closing activities. However, final authority to legally bind Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC, execute contracts or agreements, approve final pricing, incur financial obligations, or make commitments outside specifically delegated authority remains with authorized company management. No particular sale, client, grant, contract, partnership, funding award, or other business outcome is guaranteed. Qualifications Candidates should have experience or demonstrated capability in one or more of the following areas: Business development B2B sales or sales support Lead generation and prospecting Professional services Partnerships Proposal development Grant research or grant development Government or corporate contracting Procurement opportunity research Marketing or growth Client relationship development Business research CRM or pipeline management Strong candidates should demonstrate professional written and verbal communication, strong research skills, initiative, organization, attention to detail, follow-through, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work independently. Candidates should also be comfortable learning and using web-based business systems, AI-enabled tools, CRM or pipeline-management systems, and other technology used to support business-development activities. Experience with technology consulting, SaaS, artificial intelligence, government contracting, grants, education technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or professional services is helpful but not required. Compensation & Schedule Pay: $15.00 per hour This is a part-time contract position expected to begin at approximately 5–10 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on business needs, active opportunities, deadlines, and available assignments and are not guaranteed. At the anticipated schedule, compensation would generally equal approximately $75–$150 per week before applicable taxes, depending on actual hours worked. Continuation of the engagement, changes in hours, or expansion of responsibilities will depend on business needs, available work, performance, and mutual agreement. Remote Work Requirements This is a remote position. The selected contractor should have reliable internet access, access to a suitable computer, and the ability to perform assigned work in a professional and secure environment. Unless otherwise specified in writing, the contractor is responsible for the ordinary equipment, internet access, telephone access, and workspace necessary to perform contracted services.
