About the jobThe CFO is responsible for developing and implementing the companys financial strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure the achievement of organizational objectives and long-term financial stability. The CFO ensures the existence and effectiveness of the internal control framework and full compliance with all applicable regulations.This role oversees all financial functions of the organization, including accounting and general ledger, financial and management reporting, accounts payable and receivable, audit facilitation, taxation, financial systems, fund administration, and treasury. The position reports directly to the CEO and operates in alignment with the companys policies and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic LeadershipAs a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO supports the CEO and the Board by:Formulating the financial strategy and contributing to strategic decision-making.Overseeing budgeting and financial forecasting, and monitoring their implementation.Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.2. Policies & ProceduresEnsuring financial policies and procedures comply with legal requirements and global standards.Managing financial risks and internal control mechanisms.3. Financial & Accounting ManagementOverseeing accounting, taxation, and statutory reporting.Ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of financial records.Providing periodic reports in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.4. Approvals & ReportingApproving periodic financial statements and monthly internal reports.Approving payments in accordance with internal procedures.Approving payroll payments.5. Financial Statements & AuditFinalizing annual and periodic financial statements and presenting them to the Board for approval.Coordinating and supporting annual and interim audits.6. Budgeting & Financial PlanningPreparing financial forecasts and budgets aligned with the business plan and obtaining required approvals.Implementing an appropriate accounting system that supports operational management and industry best practices.7. Stakeholder RelationsMaintaining and coordinating relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including related entities and regulatory authorities.Monitoring funding, settlements, reimbursements, and related reporting.Coordinating the management of funds, including grants where applicable.8. Team Development & PerformanceSupporting training and development initiatives to enhance team capability.Implementing the performance management system to drive accountability and reward high performance.9. Technology & DigitalizationDriving value creation through technology, ensuring digital systems and processes support company objectives.Ensuring the availability of accurate and timely financial information through digital platforms.10. Financial AdministrationDeveloping and implementing internal and external financial reports.Establishing financial policies and procedures.Managing operational and capital budgeting systems.Leading tax planning and ensuring timely submission of tax filings.Conducting financial analysis for new projects, acquisitions, and business development.Managing receivables, payables, payroll, and treasury operations.11. Contracts & FinancingNegotiating third-party contracts relating to the companys commercial and operational activities.Ensuring compliance with financial clauses in contracts and agreements.12. Financial Team LeadershipPlanning, allocating, and reviewing team activities to meet departmental objectives.Hiring, training, and developing the finance team to ensure adequate capabilities and resources.13. Global & Local Stakeholder EngagementCollaborating with senior management and global stakeholders to increase company visibility, build partnerships, and attract external funding.14. Additional ResponsibilitiesParticipating in the financial committee.Performing any additional duties assigned by the CEO or the Board.Coordinating financial and accounting operations at an international level.Job SpecificationsEducationDegree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or International Accounting.ExperienceMinimum 12 years of total experience, including at least 8 years in a leadership role within an organization.Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP) and proficiency in MS Office.Functional CompetenciesStrong leadership skills.Strategic management and financial planning.Decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.Experience in retail, logistics, or services industries is an advantage.Core CompetenciesInitiative and change orientation.English & French proficiency at B2C1 level.Strong planning and organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.International exposure.
