We are looking for an experienced Back End Engineer to join the Zoe team at our office in Bogotá (Zona Chico). We seek a highly motivated individual with a strong background in PHP software development and a passion for building robust systems from scratch. As a Back End Engineer, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the product team to develop and implement back-end solutions using Laravel and related technologies.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle: estimation, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Integrate external APIs and third-party services to enhance system functionality.
- Translate requirements into efficient and secure server-side features, writing high-quality code that ensures reliability, performance, responsiveness, and data integrity.
- Ensure system scalability by providing feedback, contributing to code reviews, unit testing, performance tuning, and following best practices.
- Optimize and improve existing code and database structures.
- Take ownership of projects from concept to final delivery.
- Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and improve team collaboration.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers and front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end components.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a daily release cycle.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in PHP development using the Laravel framework.
- 3+ years of experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), including writing efficient SQL queries.
- 3+ years of experience developing REST APIs and integrating third-party services, including webhooks and cron jobs.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as TDD, code reviews, deployment processes, performance tuning, and documentation.
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows.
- Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in collaborative and dynamic environments.
- Proficient in both verbal and written English.
