Bookkeeping plays a foundational role in ensuring our financial records are current, our vendors are paid accurately, and our leadership team has the visibility needed to make sound decisions.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial records and transactional accounting that keeps Black Mountain Dynamics running smoothly. This role ensures that accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and financial reporting are handled with precision and timeliness.The Staff Accountant will work closely with Finance leadership, operations, and project managers to maintain clean books, support month-end close, and provide the financial visibility our teams depend on.This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving technology services environment where accuracy directly impacts business outcomes.Core ResponsibilitiesThe person in this role will be responsible for:Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and client billingPerforming monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure books are accurate and currentMaintaining the general ledger and ensuring all transactions are coded correctly to appropriate accountsSupporting month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with Finance leadershipTracking and reconciling vendor bills against purchase orders and delivery confirmationsPreparing regular financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summariesManaging expense reporting workflows and employee reimbursementsMaintaining organized and audit-ready financial records and documentationSupporting annual tax preparation by providing clean records and documentation to the company’s accountantIdentifying discrepancies or anomalies in financial data and escalating issues appropriatelyManaging vendor payment programs and optimizing accounts payable workflowsImproving bookkeeping workflows and documentation standards as the company scalesWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a technology services or professional services environmentVery strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Bill.comStrong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger managementExperience supporting month-end close processes and preparing standard financial reportsExcellent attention to detail with a track record of maintaining accurate financial recordsStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneouslyClear and professional communication skills when working with internal stakeholders and external vendorsNice to HaveWhile not required, the following experience is helpful:Experience working in an MSP, IT services, or project-based professional services environmentFamiliarity with project-based and reseller billing and time-and-materials invoicingExperience with HaloPSA or other IT MSP PSAAssociates or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldKey Strengths for SuccessPeople who succeed in this role typically demonstrate:Strong ownership and accountability for the accuracy of financial recordsExceptional attention to detail and a low tolerance for unresolved discrepanciesA proactive approach to identifying issues before they become problemsAbility to manage competing priorities while maintaining consistent accuracyComfort working independently while staying closely aligned with FinanceClear communication that keeps stakeholders informed without unnecessary complexityWorking ConditionsThis is a fully remote role.
