The job involves issuing and disbursing cheques, payment instruments, and cash in accordance with approved policies and procedures. The role also includes ensuring the petty cash level is constantly adequate for operational purposes, preparing periodic payment schedules, and performing daily reconciliation of disbursed payments to cash inflows. Responsibilities: - Prepare periodic payment schedules for the attention and approval of the Treasury Manager - Follow-up with the Team Lead, to ensure prompt approval of payments and endorsement of payment instruments - Notify requesting parties when payment instruments are ready for collection - Disburse cash and payment instruments to requesting parties - Receive cash / payment instrument retirement in accordance with defined policies and procedures - Perform daily reconciliation of disbursed payments to cash inflows - Ensure proper handling of cash, and other payment instruments including cheques, transfer letters, expense cards etc - Prepare daily reconciliation of cash transaction position - Monitor and analyse periodic cash flows to detect business performance trends such as working capital ratios, and provide recommendations to the Team Lead - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and transactions - Prepare periodic reports of cash management and disbursement activities - Daily data capturing of petty cash documents - Conduct its performance evaluation (PMS Evaluation Mi and end course) - Attend training to build skills - Perform any other duties as assigned by the treasury manager
