This role serves as the dedicated Scrum Master and agile process facilitator, ensuring disciplined execution of Scrum methodology across engineering, QA, and infrastructure teams. The Scrum Specialist will work closely with the Project Manager to maintain delivery excellence, uphold quality standards, and foster continuous improvement in an agile federal environment.Core ResponsibilitiesScrum Master LeadershipFacilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviewsSprint Execution ExcellenceLead accurate sprint planning sessions ensuring realistic team commitmentsProcess Integrity and Quality AssuranceEnsure zero unauthorized deviations from established processesSchedule and Milestone TrackingMonitor task dependencies, resource allocation, and critical path activitiesTrack high-level project milestones including development phases, testing cycles, and deployment windowsProvide proactive alerts regarding schedule risks with recommended mitigation strategiesDocument clear rationales for all project decisions affecting deliverables, quality, or timelinesEscalate uncertain situations to Project Manager rather than making assumptionsReporting and CommunicationGather inputs from engineering, QA, and infrastructure teams for monthly status reportsCompile comprehensive reports including progress, resource utilization, risk assessment, and upcoming deliverablesSubmit reports to Project Manager 48 hours prior to client delivery deadlinesFacilitate effective communication between cross-functional teamsMaintain transparency regarding process deviations, quality issues, and risksStakeholder Communication ManagementMaintain professional, culturally sensitive communication with all stakeholdersExercise particular care in timing, tone, and content for government client communicationsReview all sensitive communications for potential impact before sendingEscalate scope changes, resource allocation decisions, and deliverable adjustments to Project ManagerClearly communicate role boundaries to external stakeholdersRequired Experience3+ years as Scrum Master or agile coach in software development environmentsFederal government project experience strongly preferredDemonstrated expertise in agile metrics, sprint planning, and velocity managementExperience with Definition of Done enforcement and quality standardsProven track record of maintaining high sprint commitment reliabilityCertified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification required.
