Vatica Health is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the company’s accounting operations during a period of continued growth and innovation. Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and scaling accounting processes to support a multi-state, provider-facing organization.The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting background, experience in healthcare services and/or healthcare technology, and a track record of building efficient, scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognitionOwn and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting on a monthly basisPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAPMaintain internal controls and accounting policiesEnsure appropriate accounting treatment for healthcare specific revenue streams, including risk adjustment, value based care arrangements, and provider servicesPartner closely with the SVP of Finance on financial strategy, reporting, and operational initiativesSupport budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with FP&AManage external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure efficient and successful audit outcomesMonitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial metricsEvaluate and enhance accounting systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and scalabilitySupport due diligence and integration efforts related to growth initiatives, including acquisitions or partnershipsBuild, mentor, and develop a high performing accounting teamRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required or strongly preferred)8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadershipExperience in healthcare services, value based care, or healthcare technology strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606)Demonstrated experience managing audits and maintaining internal controlsExperience working in a multientity and/or multistate environmentProficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP platforms)Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilitiesExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in a private equity backed or high growth healthcare organizationFamiliarity with risk adjustment, CMS programs, and provider contracting modelsExperience scaling accounting operations and implementing process improvementsProven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environmentCompetencies:Financial AcumenRefined knowledge and understanding of key financial indicators and processes used to make better business decisions. The projected compensation range for the position may vary based on these factors and could range from $160,000 to $180,000(annualized USD). However, this estimate represents just one aspect of our total compensation package offered.
