In this role, you will craft clear, compelling content that helps members understand their care options, educates providers and community partners on Harbor's payvider model, and builds brand awareness across digital and print channels. You will work closely with clinical, operations, and insurance plan teams to translate complex healthcare concepts — including value-based care, benefit structures, and member engagement programs — into accessible, engaging communications. This is an opportunity to shape how Harbor Health tells its story at a pivotal moment in the organization's growth.Position Duties & ResponsibilitiesWrite, edit, and proofread content across channels including website copy, blog posts, member newsletters, social media, email campaigns, and marketing collateralDevelop member-facing communications that explain benefits, care programs, and health plan features in plain, accessible languageCreate provider- and broker-facing content that articulates Harbor Health's value proposition as a payvider and ACO partnerCollaborate with clinical and operations teams to accurately represent Harbor's care model, HEDIS initiatives, and population health programsTranslate regulatory and compliance-driven content (e.g., CMS/TDI requirements) into member-friendly formats — EOBs, plan documents, FAQsMaintain and evolve Harbor's brand voice and editorial standards across all content typesSupport SEO strategy by producing optimized content that drives organic traffic and member engagementManage multiple content projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced startup environmentPartner with the Creative Director and design team to ensure content and visual elements are cohesive and on-brandTrack content performance metrics and incorporate insights to continuously improve effectivenessAssist in building a content library and knowledge base for internal and external useDesired Professional Skills & ExperienceRequired5+ years of professional writing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating range (digital, long-form, and/or marketing copy)Bilingual in English and Spanish — a meaningful advantage given Harbor's Texas member populationExperience writing in a healthcare, health insurance, or health-tech contextStrong command of plain-language writing principles for consumer-facing audiencesAbility to distill complex, technical, or regulatory information into clear and engaging contentExcellent editing and proofreading skills; strong attention to detailComfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and adapting quickly in a startup environmentProficiency with content management systems and digital publishing toolsPreferredFamiliarity with value-based care, ACO structures, Medicaid/Medicare, or managed care conceptsExperience writing for both B2C (member) and B2B (provider, broker) audiences within the same organizationWorking knowledge of SEO best practices and content performance measurementExperience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar)Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field (preferred, not required)Background in startup or early-stage healthcare organizationsWhat We OfferOpportunity to shape how Harbor Health communicates its story — across member education, plan marketing, and community engagement — at an inflection point in the organization's growthCollaborative and dynamic work environmentAn organization made of people who are passionate about changing the healthcare landscapeCompetitive salary and benefits packageProfessional development and growth opportunitiesA transparent and unique culture
