Requirements and responsibilities

What You’ll Do: Bug Lifecycle & RCA: - Act as the primary gatekeeper for incoming issues. - Provide the initial response. - Perform deep Root Cause Analysis (RCA). - Enrich tickets with technical logs, reproduction steps, and context so developers can fix them efficiently. - Roll up your sleeves and patch minor issues directly in the codebase on occasion. Champion Left-Shift Quality: - Embed yourself early in the product development lifecycle. - Collaborate with product managers and engineers during the requirement and design phases to identify edge cases, logic gaps, and potential issues before code is even written. Architect Testing Processes: - Design, implement, and scale our integration testing framework and overall QA processes. - Define our quality gates. - Choose the right automation tools. - Ensure our integration environments mimic real-world scenarios. Secure Patient Data: - Ensure that all testing practices respect and protect highly sensitive patient data. - Maintain rigorous standards within a regulated healthtech environment. Elevate Team Standards: - Document clear testing strategies. - Create reusable test plans. - Help cultivate a company-wide culture that prioritizes software quality and reliability. What We’re Looking For: Experience: - 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering, with a heavy focus on integration and system-level testing. Technical Root Cause Analysis: - Strong debugging skills with the ability to read code (Python/Django preferred), inspect databases (PostgreSQL), and analyze server logs to trace the exact origin of a bug. Testing Architecture: - Proven track record of building, configuring, and architecting automated integration testing suites from scratch (e.g., using PyTest, Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress). Left-Shift Mindset: - Deep understanding of QA methodologies that prioritize prevention over detection. - Experience analyzing product requirements for testability. API & Data Proficiency: - Strong experience testing RESTful APIs (Django Rest Framework is a plus). - Writing SQL queries to validate data integrity. Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Nice to Have: - Ability to write code and submit minor pull requests/bug fixes directly in a Python/Django environment. - Experience with Healthcare Data Standards (HL7, FHIR) or testing within HIPAA/SOC 2 compliant frameworks. - Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) to embed automated testing into the deployment workflow. - Experience working closely with Product Management teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
