Job Summary: - We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator / Database Engineer (DBA/DBE) to own and optimize FreightPOP's SQL Server environment hosted in AWS. - This role is responsible for ensuring the performance, security, reliability, scalability, and availability of our database infrastructure while supporting software development and business operations. - The ideal candidate combines strong database administration expertise with a proactive engineering mindset. - This individual will work closely with Development, Cloud Operations, and Product teams to optimize database performance, implement best practices, support application growth, and ensure database environments remain secure, resilient, and highly available. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure primarily within Microsoft Azure. - Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. - Provision, configure, and maintain cloud servers, services, container platforms, and network infrastructure. - Ensure the security, availability, and integrity of company systems, applications, and data. - Apply updates, security patches, and vulnerability remediation activities across cloud environments. - Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure platform health and operational visibility. - Monitor cloud resource utilization, perform capacity planning, and optimize infrastructure costs. - Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, performance, and availability issues across cloud environments. - Manage identity, access control, and security policies across cloud platforms. - Implement and maintain infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code practices (e.g., Terraform). - Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to improve platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency. - Maintain operational documentation and support incident response and problem resolution activities. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 3+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or a related role. - Experience managing cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS, or GCP. - Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform. - Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced SaaS environment. - Experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, database migrations, and schema management. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
