Grid Compliance Manager (UK)Department:   Project Engineering Team (EMEA)Reports to:      Director of Project Engineering (EMEA)Location: Remote with 20% travel to project sites, client offices etcDescription:The primary responsibilities of the Snr. Grid Compliance Manager is to ensure that the grid connection/ compliance deliverables and test documentation required to be submitted to the DNOs and NESO by e-Storage and its’s partners or subcontractors, are provided in a timely, and high-quality manner to guarantee on time energization and smooth commissioning.Responsibilities:Track all project deliverables related to grid compliance and report monthly on status and issues.Proactively identify and manage changes in the grid code compliance scope, identify potential risks, and prepare contingency plans.Support the Commissioning Manager to provide realistic grid code compliance commissioning schedules and test management plans.Attend all relevant meetings with DNOs and NESO.Review and provide comments on grid code compliance studies / modelling.Engage and manage power systems engineering consultants when required.Prepare technical documentation and Scope of Work for powersystem consultants when necessary. Review and comment on Client technical documentation / scope of works during tender bid preparation, support the Applications Team on grid code compliance.Assist the Project Execution Team with the preparation of contractual notices related to scope changes and other grid connection matters.Engage with sub-contractor grid compliance / interface managers to ensure contractual requirements are met.Manage OEM models (PCS, PPC etc) and coordinate necessary support between Powersystem engineers and OEM model providers.Assist commissioning team in the organisation of NESO/DNO’s grid compliance testing.Responding to or coordinating responses to NESO/DNOs grid compliance testing and data requestsQualifications and Experience requirements:Engineering Degree in Electrical or Powersystem engineering.Chartered engineer status and member of the IET5-10 years of relevant work experience in Renewables generation connection to Transmission or Distribution networks.Familiar with grid connection process and G99/Full grid code requirements, including understanding of BELLA/BEGA arrangements.Experience with grid code compliance studies, grid model testing in the generation, transmission and/or distribution systems.Experience with voltage fluctuation/imbalance modeling and assessment (P28/P29).Experience with harmonics modeling and assessment (G5/5).Knowledge of all legal and technical documentation related to UK grid connection.Static and Dynamic Modeling Tools/Software experience (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD)Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to work with internal and external customer team members.About UsCanadian Solar is a leading manufacturer of solar panels, inverters, and energy storage solutions since 2001.
