MNG publishes award-winning content (49 Pulitzers) that amasses and engages a nationwide audience via 800 multi-media platforms including web, mobile, social, and print. We are transforming the news industry. The Daily Local News, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a District Manager to join the team! This is an overnight schedule from Midnight to 8am. The District Manager will be responsible for establishing, reviewing, and adjusting route delivery boundaries, monitoring independent contractor agreements, recruiting and managing independent contractors, overseeing product distribution, maintaining customer service standards, and more. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to excellence in customer satisfaction, sales experience, and dedication to achieving circulation goals. Retail and restaurant experience will also be considered. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including early mornings and some weekends, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Responsibilities: - Establish, review, and adjust route delivery boundaries to maximize service and minimize expenses - Monitor and understand independent contractor agreements - Recruit, orientate, contact, and terminate Independent Contractors - Review and hold accountable IC performance results in both service and sales to maintain company standards - Oversee/Assist in the distribution of company products to IC - Maintain company-established complaint ratio standard - Respond to customer complaints to ensure excellent service - Deliver open routes as needed - Contact customers who have stopped or are scheduled to stop in an attempt to resell or get payment - Manage and schedule assigned part-time employees - Dispatch customer complaints daily - Perform other duties as assigned
