By combining virtual and in-person counseling, community support, and access to life-saving medication, we help people move beyond addiction to find belonging, love, and purpose.The roleIn this role, you will interact with members and families, referral sources, field staff, and the local community-based organizations with whom we partner. You will work side by side with our licensed substance use and mental health counselors, helping our members find their way through their individualized recovery journey. Your work is essential to the members, and your constant feedback will be expected to help them have the best outcome possible. Your support will allow members to receive quality care in their communities and help make a better life within reach.Your work will combine telehealth and potentially in-person care at partner sites within the community. We offer access to care to our members between the hours of 8:30am-8:30pm Monday through Friday, and from 8:30am-5:00pm on Saturdays.What you will doPerform medical evaluations and initiate medications for OUD and AUDDiagnose and treat medical and mental health complaints at the level of a primary or urgent care providerCo-facilitate group therapy and medical education meetings with a licensed counselorDemonstrate and communicate the core values of Better Life PartnersParticipate in Better Life Partners and community research/public health partners’ research and data collection effortsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management and care coordination effortsAdhere to professional and ethical work standardsMaintain compliance with Federal, state, and local regulationsAttend and engage in regular training and company meetingsYou are a good fit if you haveMaine license as a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician AssistantActive DEA in states in which you hold a licenseSeveral years of experience in the practice of addiction medicine or psychiatry, primary or urgent careStrong affinity with and compassion for people and communities suffering from addictionWillingness to travel locally in MaineExcellent time management and strong attention to detailExceptionally strong work ethicTeam player with an “all hands on deck” attitude; organized and able to multitaskA flexible, proactive, and inquisitive approach to improving care delivery processesExtensive experience with electronic health records; experience with telemedicineWillingness to obtain cross-licensure (applicable ability to practice) in other states Better Life Partners operates in (we reimburse)It will also be great if you haveAdditional state licenses in New Hampshire, Vermont, and/or MassachusettsLive within a commutable distance to our Portland/Scarborough officeAvailability for weekend and/or evening shiftsWork location requirementsBLP operates in hybrid and remote work environments. For physician assistants and nurse practitioners, the starting salary range for this position is $107,900 - $141,000 annually + benefits.
