Core of the roleModel and forecast the main macroeconomic variables (GDP, inflation, exchange rate, current account, and fiscal balance) over a 2–3 year horizon for each country under coverage. That means specifying and estimating time-series models, choosing among competing specifications on statistical and economic grounds.What you'll also doBuild and maintain dated, automated data pulls from central banks, finance ministries and statistical officesMaintain quarterly sector databases (real, monetary, fiscal, external): seasonal adjustment, filtering, transformations, data dictionaryMonitor data releases and flag deviations from the baselineDeliver forecasts and scenarios to the macro and strategy teams, including inputs for debt sustainability analysisKeep it reproducible: scripted in Python or RWhat we needBSc in Economics, Statistics or Mathematics; MSc completed or in progressEconometrics strong enough to judge identification; macro strong enough to judge whether a coefficient makes senseHands-on time-series modelling in R or PythonPrior experience in macro forecastingProfessional English; able to work independently in a remote, international team📩 CV to careers@emfi.uk
