Responsibilities:Set up, configure, and update MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Oracle databasesTrack database performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement optimization techniquesDevelop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategiesEstablish and maintain strong database security protocols, including user access controlsConfigure and manage replication, clustering, and high-availability database solutionsUse scripting tools to automate routine database management tasksDiagnose and resolve database-related issues to maintain system stabilityCreate and maintain documentation for database configurations, workflows, and proceduresWork closely with DevOps and development teams to align database solutions with application needsRequirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplineAt least 5 years of professional experience in database management and integrationMinimum 1 year leading and managing technical teamsProficiency in administering MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Oracle databasesSkills in scripting languages such as Shell or Python for automating database operationsExpertise with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CIFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and AnsibleExperience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stackKnowledge of cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure Database, GCP)Understanding of database security, replication, and high-availability strategiesStrong English communication skills (B2+ level or higher)Experience engaging with clients to gather requirements and provide updatesEPAM Systems is a global leader in digital platform engineering and cloud transformation.
