Requirements and responsibilities

Apogee has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Engineering and Cybersecurity to provide contractor site reachback support for the M-Code Aviation Receivers Joint Program Office (MAR JPO). This position provides expert-level support in cybersecurity, PNT systems engineering, and systems security.This is a full-time remote position with occasional travel to government sites.ResponsibilitiesCybersecurity/Information Assurance:Provide expert cybersecurity support for GPS User Equipment systemsSupport Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) integrationConduct system security architecture analysisSupport security certification and Authority to Operate (ATO) activitiesEvaluate cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilitiesPNT Systems Engineering:Provide expert Position, Navigation & Timing engineering supportSupport GPS/GNSS system design and analysisEvaluate PNT performance and capabilitiesSupport alternative navigation technology assessmentSystems Engineering:Translate requirements into design criteria for PNT systemsEvaluate alternative design approachesConduct systems analysis and trade studiesSupport technical reviews and assessmentsApply advanced systems engineering theories and processesTechnical Support:Serve as a senior technical expert for PNT and cybersecuritySupport rapid response technical requirementsConduct vulnerability assessments and threat analysisDevelop technical recommendations and mitigation strategiesSupport testing and evaluation of cybersecurity controlsQualificationsMinimum Experience:Citizenship: Must be a US citizenClearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearanceCertification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent, DoD 8570 IAM Level II or III certificationEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related fieldYears of Experience: 20 years of cybersecurity experience focused on technical knowledge of PNT systemsAdditional experience:Deep expertise in both PNT systems and cybersecurityExperience with threat evaluation, testing, and countermeasure developmentKnowledge of DoD RMF and NIST Cybersecurity FrameworkStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent technical writing and communication skillsPreferred Experience:Clearance: TS/SCIAdditional Information:Location: Contractor Site (National - Remote)Remote: This is a full-time remote positionTravel: Travel up to 25% may be required, per the customer's discretion
