We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.As a Flight Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will automate the operation of highly complex aircraft systems. Our Flight Software teams are deeply involved in all aspects of the development and certification of the Reliable Robotics autonomy stack, and play a central role in bringing our aircraft to life.ResponsibilitiesDevelop highly deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment that works with sensors & control systems.Robustly handle system faults and integrate with other vehicle subsystems.Drive requirements and implement excellent unit tests.Work directly with flight hardware in the lab and on the plane, plan flight testing, and watch your code fly an aircraft.Basic Success CriteriaBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace or equivalent experience7+ years of professional experience with C or C++Professional experience developing software for embedded or high performance applicationsAbility to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environmentPreferred CriteriaThorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems and networkingExperience with DO-178CExperience developing software for safety critical applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThis role offers the opportunity to interact with teams and components across the entire automated aircraft and to specialize in the areas most exciting to you.Eligibility / Export ControlsThis position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export controls.
