Requirements and responsibilities
Hardware Integration (Edge):
- Own and evolve Node.js-based on-premise proxies that interface with barcode readers, scales, cameras, and local file systems.
- Handle serial communication, Modbus/TCP, FTP, and edge-specific resilience features (retries, local caching, offline fallback).
- Optimize services for constrained CPU/memory environments and deploy using Docker.
Cloud Integration (APIs & Services):
- Build and maintain connectors for third-party platforms like WMS systems.
- Normalize data across formats and services, ensuring smooth interaction with Sizelabs’ backend APIs.
- Implement retry logic, observability, and diagnostics for cloud-to-cloud integration points.
System Design & Collaboration:
- Define integration standards and document interfaces for hardware and cloud services.
- Work closely with the Tech Lead and Backend team to align contracts and data flows.
- Collaborate with QA and Product to validate and support deployments in production environments.
