The Digital and Automation Specialist role at IMEC is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for digital manufacturing technology and a desire to help manufacturers optimize their performance. As a key member of the IMEC team, the Digital and Automation Specialist will be responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with manufacturers, assessing their challenges and opportunities, and supporting IMEC consulting teams in delivering manufacturing improvement capabilities. The role also involves selling IMEC's manufacturing improvement resources and providing direct consultation to manufacturers within their area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital technology, experience in technology transfer methodologies, and a demonstrated ability to conceptualize and pioneer initiatives around Industry 4.0. This position requires a combination of virtual work and regular travel, with occasional extended travel to remote facilities across the state. Responsibilities: - Provide direct consultation to manufacturers within their own area of expertise - Identify trends, industry drivers, and digital manufacturing technology gaps across manufacturers in Illinois Industry 4.0 - Conduct digital manufacturing readiness assessments - Maintain awareness of the latest advances and developments in digital manufacturing technologies as well as ERP/MRP - Develop go-to-market strategies for digital manufacturing technology transfer services - Prepare proposals - Deliver sales presentations - Manage project engagements - Develop and manage third party resources - Participate on IMEC’s service development and process improvement teams
