Job SummaryThe purpose of the Senior AWS Solution Architect is to provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to development teams that build cloud-native solutions on AWS. Based on a thorough understanding of how to efficiently build high-quality, cloud-native applications on AWS, the architect will develop solution prototypes to demonstrate suitability and interoperability of chosen components, and to establish patterns for adoption by development team membersResponsibilities and Duties:Design and engineer 100% AWS cloud-native application componentsDevelop solution prototypes to demonstrate suitability and interoperability of chosen components, and to establish patterns for adoption by development team membersIn the context of solution prototypes, write high-quality, efficient code in Python and JavaScript without guidanceProvide ongoing guidance and coaching to development team membersProvide AWS cloud-native subject-matter expertise to developersConduct code reviews and feedback on implementation patternsCapture implementation patterns into development standards and architecture best practices, as neededQualifications and Skills:The Senior AWS Solution Architect has a background in large-system application development and design and proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of cloud application components. This position is NOT meant for the cloud Infrastructure or DevOps architect. The architect should be able to explain the process of analyzing alternatives during the design of the solution and the reasoning for selecting the specific services over other alternatives that were available.The ideal candidate will demonstrate, through prior experience, multiple of the following desired skills:Proficiency with object-oriented design principles and software design patternsProficiency with object-oriented programming languages: Python, Java, and/or JavaScript (Python preferred)Development and deployment experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including experience with the following technologies:GlueLambdaS3CloudFormationCloudWatch and CloudTrailCodeCommitEC2, SNS, SQS, KMS, VPC, and IAMExperience with document markups (JSON, XML), document data stores, and REST API endpoints for data retrieval and updateExperience with container software and application management, i.e. Docker and KubernetesExposure to and familiarity with relational databases and SQLExposure to and familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Jenkins, and GITExposure to and familiarity with Agile methodologies and/or ScrumStrong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsExperience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environmentAbility to adhere to federal, state, and organizational policies that safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institutionPreferred Experience and Skills:Experience with MarkLogicPublic sector experience, preferably Medicaid or healthcareDesired Certifications:AWS Solution Architect, with associated practical usage of previously mentioned servicesAWS Developer, with associated practical usage of previously mentioned servicesType and Location:Full-time, W2 with competitive salary and benefitsPosition is remote but work hours are 8am-5pm EST
