Responsibilities

Responsibilities: - Full feature development across FastAPI (Python) and Next.js (TypeScript/React 19). - Real-time voice chat pipeline: STT (Whisper) → LLM → TTS, including latency optimization, streaming, and graceful error handling. - Debugging and fixing subtle timing issues, race conditions, and state bugs — the kind that only reproduce on slow connections or specific browsers. - PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization as we scale. - Observability: structured logging, error tracking, identifying issues before users report them. - Infrastructure: Railway/Vercel today, AWS migration path as we grow. - Code review, testing (pytest + vitest), CI/CD pipeline maintenance. Must-Have: - 4+ years professional experience with Python and TypeScript/React. - 2+ years experience operating production systems serving thousands of daily users - Hands-on experience with real-time audio or video in web apps (WebSockets, streaming APIs, MediaRecorder, Web Audio API). - Experience integrating third-party AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, cloud STT/TTS, or similar). - PostgreSQL — not just basic CRUD, but migrations, indexing, query analysis. - Git discipline — clean PRs, meaningful commits, comfortable with CI gating. - Debugging mentality — you find the root cause, not the workaround.
