I am looking for a backend developer to connect and build my database and pre-built front-end case management platform. The platform will be AI-native, and the individual must have experience connecting cloud APIs and third-party APIs, such as DocuSign and communications tools, with security top of mind.
- TypeScript / Next.js / React — they port your screens, so front-end capability matters even
for a "backend guy"
- PostgreSQL + Supabase — especially Row-Level Security: that's the mechanism that makes
"standard users can't delete" true at the database, not just in buttons
- Auth & permissions — roles + per-user grants + full audit trail, exactly like the prototype
- Anthropic Claude API in production — streaming, structured outputs, and moving the API key
out of the browser onto a server, with your per-user token limits and per-matter AI billing
preserved
- The integrations bench: DocuSign (e-sign lifecycle), Microsoft Graph (email + Outlook
calendar push), Dialpad/Twilio (SMS + transcripts), QuickBooks (expenses), Word/PDF document
generation
- Security — its own section, per your ask: encryption at rest and in transit, secrets
management, signed expiring document links, tested backups/restore, OWASP hygiene, no PII in
logs — framed around the reality that this is attorney-confidential PII, medical records, and
SSNs. SOC 2 or legal/health-tech experience is the strong signal.
Nice-to-haves: legal-tech background (Clio/Filevine/Litify), production LLM-app experience,
Spanish.
