Job DescriptionAre you an experienced non-profit , Grants Manager who wants to use your accounting/administrative expertise in a remote, flexible, part-time capacity? This may be the ideal role for you! Note, this is not a fundraising or grant-writing position. In this role you will join an outsourced accounting team to provide grant-related administrative support (accounting, tracking, reporting) for one or more nonprofit organizations. Flexible scheduling, from 10-25 hours/week. Health insurance is available at 20 hours. Compensation is $55-$65/hour, DOE.Essential Duties:Build trusted relationships with client management by understanding their grants management needs and proactively identifying and solving issues.Develop and maintain a clear picture of the organization’s grant revenues and expenses with a good accounting understanding and ability to use accounting software.Stay up to date with government grant regulations to ensure compliance.Post-Award Grants ManagementCreate and help manage reporting calendarDevelop systems for tracking grants and grant financialsManage grant budgets and budget revisionsCreate financial reports and invoicesWork with accounting team to record data, identify revenue and set up codingEnsure compliance with funder requirementsStreamline workflows and processesLead or support budgeting processesMaintain consistency (staff training)Review current practices and identify areas for development or improvementPre-Award Grants Management (Administration and Systems Development)Recommend grants management tools/softwareWork with programs and management on developing grant budgets and support development of organizational budgetCoordinate the grant application process, including facilitating meetings, ensure all components are compliant with the guidelines, and reviewing for consistency and details.Maintain a grant calendar that tracks submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and other important datesEnsure that the organization's policies and procedures align with grant requirements and best practices in grant managementGeneral responsibilities as a Shining Star employee will include:Represent Shining Star Consulting by espousing our values and working towards our Mission and VisionEngage in required team and company wide trainingAttend scheduled meetings with the Director of Grants ManagementStay up to date on accounting best practices and nonprofit guidelinesRespond to company communicationQualifications Required QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in grants managementBasic understanding of non-profit financial accounting and fund accountingProficient in using spreadsheetsPreferred QualificationsExperience with procedures and policy developmentKnowledge of grant regulations and compliance requirementsExperience in non-profit bookkeeping or financeNecessary SkillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to be detail oriented while also using that information to help inform bigger picture decisionsDemonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial reportsStrong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with program staff and fundersNoteCastlerock is the exclusive recruiting partner for our client - a Bay Area consulting firm that provides fractional CFO and outsourced accounting services to over 80 nonprofit organizations in California.
